I am a Reading Interventionist in a Title I school with pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade in Wisconsin. I work with 47 students throughout the day who need additional support in order to strengthen their current reading skills. My students are currently performing below grade level, and require intensive guided reading instruction based on their individual needs and learning styles. Our school is made up of students from different socioeconomic backgrounds in a rural community. My students work hard, ask thoughtful questions, and take the risks required to try, fail, and ultimately learn! I am extremely PROUD of each and everyone of my students. When learning is to read is difficult the additional time and hard work is that much more rewarding. As I watch my students master skills and grow as a reader, I'm reminded of why I became a teacher.
