I am counselor at large, to the Middle School at Mater Academy .The vast majority of our students are on a free lunch program. The local neighborhood is economically poor and crime is high.Teaching these student is not easy. One must gain their trust, obtain their interest, and the most difficult task, follow through with the student to earn a grade and then continue to move forward.
