My classroom is a place where all students are valued, success is celebrated, and students are challenged to continually grow. We support each other and are all vested in everyone's best interests. The majority of my classes are 9th Grade Honors English. My other class is an ESL support class for students who are learning English. These students typically have lived in our country for 2 years or less. In these classes, the students analyze texts from a wide range of sources---Shakespeare to historic documents. We creatively examine the writings of some of the most celebrated authors and use them as inspiration to make our writing even stronger. All students have a unique voice; my heartfelt dream is for them to leave me being able to articulately and confidently express this voice using the skills we refined all year.
