With these Chromebooks, my students will be able to harvest information about physical systems that are too small to see with the naked eye or too large to encompass without access to technology and the Internet. With technology, we bring more of the world into the classroom. I want to enable my students to learn by engaging with phenomena in the world. Modeling large systems (like the solar system) and understanding the laws of Universal Gravitation or Geophysics requires access to the kind of online resources that learning tools like Chromebooks help bring into the classroom. Being a twenty-first century learner also means thinking about how to be engineers and researching the ways that developments in technology impact the world in both positive and negative ways. Again, the Internet is a critical tool and Chromebooks become windows into the world.
