My students need a rug to be a place to meet as a class. In order for them to get the most of their learning, they need to be able to have a place where they can sit and learn how to group themselves so that they can have a meaningful conversation with each other to share their ideas. With each student having their own space, they can focus more on what they are engaging in and less on making sure they have a place to sit. Classroom community is an essential aspect in the classroom. To help the students know that it is important to be in school and that they are cared for. Students partake in a morning meeting where they greet each other by name and learn how to shake each other's hand. Give them the visual way on how to sit on the outside of the carpet will help the students, focus more on working with each other and less on where they are sitting.
