My students struggle in the areas of communication and social skills. I will use these play based materials to provide direct instruction for social skills like inviting a peer to play and sharing. These play based materials will be used to create an environment where students can grow in their ability to appropriately interact with peers and in their language acquisition. Students benefit from manipulates to initiate play and to help them grow in a developmentally appropriate manner. Students need to develop these essential skills in kindergarten so that they are able to use them as a foundation to their future relationships and education.
