Students in preschool benefit from utilizing multiple modalities and gain input from various sensory methods. We want them to learn through as many different types of input as possible. The addition of the light table (with possible sand add-on) will allow my students to participate in a fun, new way to learn things like letters, numbers, and even writing practice in the sand! The size of this table will also allow for social interactions and the students will be able to work both independently and together on this fun piece of equipment. "Messy play allows children to: build, imagine, experience, investigate, explore, create, observe, predict, and use the senses; best of all, it's heaps of FUN!" (Storiesandchildren.com) We will use all the features of the sand and light table with the letters, numbers, and blocks to first of all have FUN in preschool, and secondly to find learning in new and unique ways!
