Student language proficiency is significantly aided by comprehensible, interesting reading materials. These books will provide exactly that. Their grammatical awareness, vocabulary, and spelling will improve without them realizing because they will be so engaged in the story line! In addition, a number of these novels expose my students to Hispanic cultures that they may otherwise not experience. In my classroom, we are currently reading for 20-25 minutes per week. With these additional materials, we will be able to read more and students will be able to borrow books, if they choose. I am so excited to share Spanish with them through reading!
