This year my students will be using the workshop method with all levels of literacy (reading, writing, phonics). They need comfortable areas to gather together for reading and writing. The center of the classroom has a huge impact on student learning. This is where we come together to build our community and increase literacy. The rug provides comfort as well as inspiration. The additional seating will allow students choice during reading and writing workshops. Book boxes will provide personal book organization space for each student. These items will create an inviting space that fosters a love of reading and writing.
