Currently, the World Language hallway of our school lacks bling. As individual teachers, we work very hard to maintain a colorful, lively, cultural classroom. As a group, we have neglected the hallway. This year we decided to make the hallway as inviting as each of our classrooms. We have started purchasing posters from all of the countries that speak the languages we teach: Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin. We have purchased frames for these posters and are having them hung along the top of the walls in the hallway. When students come down the hall, they will enter a world of culture and beauty, representing the cultural awareness that we bring into our classroom. So far we have been able to gain the support of our language clubs and the school's parent organization. But at the current rate of support, it will take us years to complete the hallway. A donation through DonorsChoose.org would allow us to purchase the rest of the posters and frames needed to complete our project, and it would help us bring our vision to fruition before the end of this school year.
