I am requesting an iPad for opportunities to explore different communication and assessment modalities. My non-verbal students will find a voice through using apps which allow picture to voice responses, enabling an increase of self-expression. The apps we will utilize allow for varying levels of communication ability from picture, to symbolic, to graphic representations. The multi-lingual ability of an iPad strengthens students opportunities to truly express their level of knowledge. Instructional materials and opportunities to expand vocabulary will be utilized. Artistic expression can be expressed by creating new musical works through touch and color. Musical exploration of melodic and percussive instruments will be available to students with significant motor delays. These devices will increase self-confidence and achievement.
