Having the components used for the building of solar powered cars will allow my students to engage in a design process that addresses a real world problem. Having access to these parts will give my students the opportunity to develop and refine their design thinking skills as they create and test their finished solar powered cars. The project will significantly help my students' understanding of the design process used in the building of solar powered cars. The components will help to meet the needs of my students who will be learning how to design the future of transportation as well as increase their understanding of alternative energy sources.
