Kindergarten is an exciting experience for students, this is the first time a lot of kids have ever been in a classroom. For some students it is the first time they have been with a large group of children their own age. It can be challenging for students to interpret all of the feelings they have throughout their day. Actions speak louder than words. Hitting, biting, and pushing are all actions that I have seen in my classroom; those actions have been heard and I am ready to teach my Kindergartners the words they need to be successful. Knowing how you feel and being able to express it in words is extremely important! With the books I have selected, students will be able to identify with characters as well as learn the vocabulary they need to express themselves. Treating others as well as yourself with respect is a life skill everyone has to learn. I want to supply my students with the books they need to not only treat themselves with respect, but to also treat others with respect. Let's teach kindergartners words!
