My hope is that this project helps my students look at science in a new, exciting way. It is hard to visualize scientific processes at work without an active "scientific" imagination so these items, especially the easel as it can be used by the students and myself, will help them visualize the topics we cover more vividly. I want my students to fully understand how science impacts our daily lives by carrying out experiments that help them recognize how we impact the environment and how processes on Earth impact us. The globe I requested would help them see how differential heating of the Earth impacts weather and climate, for instance. I want my students to become more engaged in their learning so that they will gain a full understanding of what is being discussed and begin to develop critical thinking skills which will help them in my class, every other class they take and in life in general.
