Our middle school students do not have the resources that most middle school students have. They do not have lockers to organize their belongings in and make a space personal to themselves, they do not get to switch classes to get the full middle school experience, and they do not have electives to choose from to help build their personalities and character. By purchasing these planners for the middle school students they will be able to have part of the same experience that other students have. I would love to be able to help my students organize not only their school assignments, but also prepare them for high school and beyond. These planners will allow them to keep track of upcoming events and also be a way for me to better communicate with parents. They will use these planners as hall passes which I believe will decrease the amount of time they spend outside of the classroom and also help them with self accountability. Our school does not provide student planners, but maybe after they see the benefits of them we will be able to get these funded by the school for everyone and not just the middle school classes. I really hope this is something that these students are able to have this year!
