Our classroom library is very limited and in order for students to increase their cultural awareness, students need diverse texts in the classroom. The books requested would help students broaden their perspectives of cultures and groups of people different from themselves. Additionally, our classroom currently do not have a class set of laptops, however, e-readers would help students build information, media, and technology skills in context and, advance life and career skills. We are dedicated to growing our minds in more ways than one! Within our English 1 class, I encourage my students to be creative and express themselves through many products such as poetry, memoir writing, journaling, and visual arts. To ensure students are able to express themselves, we are asking for markers, colored pencils, and watercolor paint supplies. These supplies will make a huge difference in my students' learning and encourage them to be their original and creative selves!
