The process of language development is supported by many different variables in a child's life. Making the learning experiences meaningful is important for them to retain the experience in their brain. I teach second grade in a low income area of South Central. Most of my students come from working families were both mom and dad have to work to earn a living. This situation makes it tough for our students to get those meaningful out of classroom experiences they need to help their learning. I believe that as educators we need to provide and engage our students with further language building activities that are meaningful, enjoyable and standards based.

About my class
