We are a new middle school with a brand new autism program. We were given a classroom to utilize as a sensory room for the moments where our students need to take a mental break. These supplies will allow them to have a sensory break in order to regroup. Our students require hands-on activities to get them through the day. Some moments of our days may be overwhelming at times. These items will serve as emotional support tools for all ranges of autistic students. I have a student who has severe anxiety and carries around a weighted animal. I think he would benefit from having the weighted neck pillow or the weighted blanket sensory sack. I have many students that can benefit from puzzles. These students love puzzles. I think the hexagon tangram wooden puzzle will help with fine motor skills. The IQ Steam Builders will help with fine motor skills and problem-solving skills. My students love art and anything to do with making art. I thought these wooden pattern blocks will have a 2d and 3d effect for my students. Fidget toys are great for when my students need a break because they are highly active due to their disabilities. Please help us allow our students to have their emotional needs met on a daily basis.
