Giving low-income students access to seed germinator kits will enhance their learning in science and prepare them for the 4th grade science test that entails scientific observations. Students will be able to closely observe, record, and actively engage in inquiry-based learning. Student from the south bronx area have limited access and schools have limited funding for students to access these experiences and hands on learning. The school has piloted the FOSS program, but unfortunately it does not come with the seed germinator kits. Students have made improvements from this program with only 6 months use last year. We can only imagine the growth they will make this year with the program plus additional resources.
