These students often have difficulty with transitions and changes in their schedules. There are several items that can help students manage their sensory overload. Certain items, such as a weighted blanket, provide comfort and support for students with autism when they are experiencing sensory overload and unable to manage it. Students can use a weighted blanket for short periods of time to help calm their feelings, so they can return to their work in the classroom.
