This project will allow students to practice their music and sight singing digitally, self evaluate, create, respond, and interpret music all through the use of technology. Students will use many different apps and programs on the iPad such as Edmodo, Garage band, Tuner, Ear Master, Score reader, Google Classroom, and Improvox. Edmodo and Google classroom will allow students to interact with repertoire, each other, and the teacher virtually by submitting assignments, downloading materials, and participating in classroom discussions. Apps like Tuner, Ear Master, Ear Tuning, Score Reader, Improvox, and Finale Songbook will allow singers to really dig deep into their choral repertoire. The teacher can scan and create ear training exercises to learn scales and interval interactions and let students scaffold their ear training without feeling singled out for performing the simpler exercises and allowing more advanced students to move ahead at their own pace. Improvox and Tuner will let students know if they are singing sharp or flat in real time discretely and help students feel less embarrassment and singled out by pitch correct from the teacher versus using technology.
