Physical education is not a privilege, it is a right for all students. Due to lack of funding and often lack of planning, many students with limited physical, mental, and emotional capabilities are left out of the conversation and planning. The addition of adult tricycles to the adaptive Physical Education classes will allow students the opportunity to increase participation levels in fun and exciting ways while also improving motor coordination and muscular strength. Students will be paired with non-disabled peers and behavior technicians to increase participation, and improve motor skill development with the use of tricycles throughout the building in a safe in cooperative environment. Further, they will feel more part of the school and demonstrate their learning in the least restrictive manner.
