Students will be using these tablets for reading purposes. Having these in our classroom would give my students access to thousands of stories that I can not provide them with in the flesh. We don't have enough money for a classroom library that extensive, nor would we have anywhere to put those books! Kindles would help my reading center be differentiated for all of my students needs. Not only would they be able to read independently at their level, but those in need of audio assistance would have access to that as well! Right now our listening station is an old boombox. While learning to operate a cd player has been a valuable experience, it is extremely limiting. Audio book collections can become expensive, our selection is very small, and sometimes not everyone in the group wants to read the same story! Kindles would open up a new world of possibilities in our learning. They would provide us with new avenues to ask questions and seek answers.
