Having chair pockets for each student will allow my students to take ownership of their work while increasing their level of independence, increase instructional time and level of engagement! In kindergarten the children do not have individual desks so they sit in small groups at tables that do not have any storage areas. All of their books, art supplies, folders, work products, etc... have to be stored in various areas around the classroom. Therefore, every time we start a new lesson, activity or art project I need to hand out the necessary supplies. This results in a tremendous loss of valuable time in school. Having "Proud Pockets" will allow each child to receive the most out of each school day and they will have a special place to keep all of the work they are so proud of!
