My students come from a high poverty environment. The students are all fed breakfast at school to make sure they have had something in their stomachs so they are able to learn effectively. Many students are working below grade level in the area of reading and have very little parental support. The majority of my students are African American. Most of the students are at risk learners who require direct instruction to learn best.
