Having a library will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library currently lacks novels that students enjoy. This initiative will provide them with books that they are excited to read! All of the requested books have been chosen with my students' interests in mind. I've observed their likes and dislikes, areas where they need to grow academically and personally, listened to some of their struggles, and noticed what texts they enjoy. Students will be able to select books that are relatable and fascinating which will help them to enjoy independent reading time. New additions to my classroom library will afford students with the opportunity to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to select interesting books at their current reading level and strengthen their comprehension and fluency over time. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
