Whether it's using our black lights and glow in the dark materials to travel to the dark side of the moon to review skills across the content areas, putting on our lab coats to operate on sentences, contractions, or text passages, adding cupcakes to our containers as we sample different book genres, tying up our aprons at "Restaurant Retell" so we can get to work on retelling the stories we read, practicing place value at boot camp, or constructing compound words at our construction site, students will be engaged learners! These room transformations will involve lessons that will challenge and motivate my first graders to confidently work on rigorous standards in a way that's engaging and meaningful for them.
