We are a Title I school with a high population of minority, ELL and those from economically disadvantaged homes. Over 75% of our students are eligible for free lunches. We are very lucky to have the opportunity to support and guide the academic needs of our general education classrooms, including gifted, ELL and special needs. We are excited to become one of the first STEAM Magnet Schools in our County. Our goal is a variety of academic opportunities that will get our kids interested and involved in a broad curriculum, offering them a range of new interests and challenges. With each student receiving a copy of Science Weekly, I will be able to boost our Science lessons with a variety of cross curriculum activities, including reading, comprehension, vocabulary and EXPERIMENTS.. Kids thrive in a "hands-on" learning environment and ours are no exception.
