My students are always asking to move and get comfortable. The old school tables are not effective for many young students. Their options are currently limited with what I have. I am a third year teacher and everything I currently have, I have paid for out of my own pocket. These flexible seating options will allow students to work and be comfortable. They can wiggle, wobble, work on the floor, and get cozy in a bean bag chair. I plan on adding to the options in the future (standing desks, exercise ball chair...etc), but this is a good start. During independent work times they can choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
