My students love books, many are beginning to read high frequency words and most are successful at sounding out simple words. It is so rewarding to see the pride on the face of a child when they are able to read a sentence in a book that is appropriate for them! I would like to provide my students with a classroom library that is rich in leveled readers or "just right" books. This is my first year teaching at this grade level and our classroom library is sparse. I would like to enhance it with books that students feel successful reading and are able to borrow to bring home to share with their family. Many of my students are from low income families and appropriate books are not usually available to them at home.
