I am asking for forty-one books including books from The Princess in Black series, Manfish: A Story of Jacques Cousteau, After the Fall (How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again), and The Tree in the Courtyard. These books will be a wonderful addition to our school library. Our students take thousands of tests each month and are recognized at assemblies. By providing students with new books, we will be able to motivate them to read more. Students also enjoy reading books in a series and they will be so excited to have access to the next book in the series they enjoy. These books will also help our students that participate in Battle of the Books. This is a great program for our gifted students. Students must read 30 books and attend weekly meetings during their lunch. In May students travel to Bakersfield and compete with students from all over Kern County. The list for Battle of the Books changes every three years. This is why we need additional books in the library to ensure that students have access to the books required for the program. Please help support our library.
