My students are from all over the world, and they are learning English as their second language. They have only lived in this country for a short time and most are here as a result of war/oppression in their native country. The students are held to the same standards as their American counterpart and are expected to pass all the required exams in order to graduate from high school. They attend a public high school with limited resources and funding, yet are so eager to learn.
