Seating in my art room has been a problem. Initially I was given stools which were too small and weak for my young adult students to sit on. Then were given all the leftover and undesirable steel folding chairs no one else wanted. I turned that negative into a huge positive by having my students paint interesting themes, designs and free forms on every chair in my room, making the act of sitting on these old, often rickety chairs into a special event. Visitors to my room marvel at our Marilyn Monroe chair, Sonic chair, basketball team chairs, Cheeto's chair, popcorn chair, love chair, and my favorite, our Pepto Bismal chair. It's for kids with problems. Unfortunately our chairs still are falling apart and my Principal caught me pilfering from the gym. He said I can't do that any longer, so... Help me buy more steel folding chairs so all my students can all sit on a solid and strong art masterpiece! The materials in this request will help us properly prime each new awesome handpainted chair creation and finish them with a shiny protective gloss coat. Our school art budget does afford us the acrylic paints we will need to intricately paint our designs. With your help our new chairs will again be the talk of every visitor to our art room and my students will gain much pride and affection for our art room.
