Each one of the tools provided will add materials to our classroom that we do not have yet. These materials will begin to build a foundation that will last throughout their educational careers. These materials will be a part of our STEM center - our Creation Station - where my students will be able to collaborate on hands-on activities. The creation station is where we will have nine bookcase shelves with various activities for our students to learn through exploration. While working with Strawbees, our students will learn to work as a team as they build various functioning objects. We will have team competitions to see which project actually performs in the manner in which it is expected. The Smart Circuits Games & Gadgets Electronics Lab will be used as an enrichment activity that reinforces what they are learning in their STEM classes. Using this tool will encourage tenacity in my students and help them to continue working on a project instead of giving up when they are experiencing frustration. My students enjoy playing video games and it would be a great opportunity for them to build their own video game using Bloxels. They will be able to get the intrinsic reward of seeing their hard work pay off as they design a game using various strategies. They are always interested in playing educational video games during the time they are in my class and this will give them a chance to understand how games are created. College and career readiness is a prominent factor in the teaching and learning process so STEM education is becoming more and more important. I cannot wait to see how my students will learn and grow with these materials!
