I teach a 5th grade class that consists of Central American and Mexican, Chinese, and Middle Eastern students. Ninety percent of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch and come from low income families. Many of these students do not have access to computers or the internet at home and depend on being able to do so at school. These students love to work together on weekly projects. Although many come from homes where English is not spoken, the amount of parental support we receive is unbelievable! My students have a desire to grow both intellectually and as citizens of our community. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our learning and we feel that through the use of modern technology, we can make strides towards achieving our goals. Currently, my class does not have a technology class. We are looking for 5 laptops to share in class for our weekly projects.
