My fifth grade readers and writers would love the opportunity to choose comfortable spots to conduct their work. If this project is funded, it will add a range of flexible seating options to my English/Language Arts classroom. In addition to student choice and engagement, community, and collaboration, flexible seating options can also help increase students' physical health. For example, wobble stools can engage and strengthen student's cores. Adding these items to my classroom will make a difference in the physical, mental, and educational experience of the students I serve. In addition to flexible seating options, items such as clipboards and whiteboard pockets make it easier for students to transition to different spots around the classroom.
