These books will be used to challenge these young students in small groups during Guided Reading time. Most Second Grade students are just being introduced to reading chapter books and are excited about the possibility of reading a chapter book. They will read the books in small groups every morning and continue with extension activities after reading. These students are very limited with the amount of books they have access to. They do not have a school library or a public library in their town. The only time they have access to books is in my classroom. All of these books I've had to purchase on my own.
