A group of educators is beginning a Ballet Folklórico dance class in the rural town of Orland, CA. In a place with a growing number of Latino/Hispanic families, it is imperative that their culture is valued and honored at the school level. These dance skirts will allow low-income families to participate in this important art form. Performing Ballet Folklorico will strengthen student's cultural identities, elevate self-esteem, build discipline, and create the opportunity for deep friendships. Ballet Folklórico is a beautiful way to highlight Mexican culture and to connect all members of our town to the school community. The students will be performing at different school-wide events. We are offering this class to second graders from any and every background. Thanking you for helping us create unifying experiences in our small town.
