These items will create a comfortable and inviting reading area for my students to go to and relax in. In third grade, we are working on reading stamina and a cozy area to read will make it easier to sit down for longer periods of time. I also plan to give my students choice to work around the room during certain parts of the day and these materials will give the students flexible seating options. The area rug will make the reading corner more comfortable, inviting, and the students will not have to sit on the cold, tile floor. The bean bags will be a great spot to sit and read comfortably. They are also easy to move around the room during guided math or literacy centers. I know my students will look forward to getting to use this special area in our room and these items will make it so much more enjoyable Giving the students a chance to get out of their seats and work in different parts of the room will help keep them engaged and not sitting in one spot all day. I want my students to love reading and look forward to independent reading time everyday, and I know these materials will make a huge difference. I know my students will greatly benefit from having an comfortable reading corner that will allow them to cozy up with a good book!
