My class needs a calm down corner to support sensory needs and provide an opportunity for students to self regulate their behaviors. They would love this ocean themed space to "cool down". The materials are perfect for providing them the opportunity to take a break. When a student has a meltdown it can be difficult for them to calm down without the appropriate space and tools. Students will utilize these calming tools to help them implement strategies that have been taught. This will allow for a specific space in the classroom and specific materials to assist them in self regulation. The sandbox will provide a safe place for them to explore the calming tools and materials.
