Even five-year old kindergarten students must jump into this technological age that we find ourselves in. As their teacher, I must ensure that they are ready and able to face this new future that is surely here to stay. We are now giving standardized tests via the computer in kindergarten. However, my students come from impoverished homes and do not have access to technology and do not know how to drag and drop, swipe, etc... These are vital skills that they need to know not just for kindergarten, but for the future. I want to place iPads in the hands of my students when we are learning the alphabet and math concepts. I will download free apps that I have already researched and use these iPads throughout our school day.
