I currently teach AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), which is a College readiness program. I also teach a class that helps middle school students, who have previously failed a grade, gain high school credits. My students have been through a lot this past month. Due to Hurricane Harvey, many of my students have lost all of their possessions and some have lost family members. Even though times are rough right now, these students are resilient.
