The materials and supplies I am requesting will be used for hands on science experiments. The eye droppers, watercolor, glue, googles, plastic cups, will allow science to come alive in our classroom! Having these materials will allow students to have a hands on experience. We will learn to make a hypothesis and test it and check our knowledge. Each item requested, glue, googles, eye droppers, watercolor, will be used and encourage students to be explorers, deep thinkers, seekers, life long learners. The document camera we are requesting will be used for me to model a "think aloud" and students can view this from anywhere in the room. Students will also have the opportunity to use the document camera and show us their own personal thinking. This will help us to better understand that there are several ways to solve problems rather than just one way. I am also asking for books that are encouraged by my district that are deep and rich in vocabulary and aline with our weekly read aloud. These books will allow me to read and expose my students to various non-fiction texts. I truly believe this quote, "The more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the more places you'll go!" - Dr. Seuss.
