In an alternative education program, we strive to meet the unique needs of the students we serve in a variety of ways, one of which is providing a comfortable learning environment that is most conducive to learning. I've selected a standing desk for my classroom because it is an item many of my alt-ed students have repeatedly requested; many stating it would be an appropriate alternative to a traditional desk. A standing desk work station would allow students to choose the work station that works best for them, benefiting students who struggle with attention/focus and students who struggle with anxiety.
