Cross-curricular projects have the greatest impact on our students. Our project will allow us to integrate technology into music classes at our school. Specdrums by Sphero are small rings that read colors to make sounds. We plan to use Specdrums to give students a tactile experience when creating music. Specdrums are designed for both the beginner to the more advanced musician. Students can use color codes to play popular songs, or they can design their own code to create their own masterpiece. We see this project as the perfect way to integrate technology in a meaningful way into the music class. We envision this project will help all students find success regardless of ability. Giving students the ability to create music through technology will have a profound impact on all of our students because it will allow them to enhance both music and tech skills while having a lot of fun.
