In my experience, many students abandon books far too quickly. They don't develop a love for reading because they don't experience the joy of getting lost in a book and the mix of emotions you can feel when finishing a good book! I want them to experience this! I want to ignite a love of reading that will help my students be more successful now, as well as in their futures! This comes from explicit teaching of how to tackle complex texts. We will be doing this work together with read aloud, and then hopefully, with your help, they will get to practice independently in book clubs with their peers! My students need chapter book sets so that we can fully implement book clubs in our classroom!

About my class
