I am requesting an iPad, with safety shield case and charging station for my students to use in class. Just like many young students populating schools across the country, my class really enjoys activities involving teachnology. When the arts are included, that's a super bonus. Due to occasional behavior issues, we sometimes have to skip mainstreaming into art and music classes. We are making a push to incorporate STEM activities with the arts through the use of iPads. With the iPad and accessories in this project, we'll have a total of five iPads in our class, making it a 2 to 1 ratio with technology devices. We plan on using apps like "Singing Fingers" to combine art and music with science (sound waves, pitch) and engineering (building their own virtual instrument). "Beatwave" can help us to combine music making with math (time signatures, beats per minute, note values). "ScratchJr" will allow us to combine art with language arts and story telling. These iPads and the apps we plan to download will help us to incorporate all of our favorite things: technology, arts, and creativity all together to fully engage our students and keep them excited about learning every day.
