Solar Preparatory School for Girls at James B. Bonham is a public K-8 school in the Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, Texas. The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees approved Solar Prep in 2015 following a competitive proposal process through the district's Office of Transformation and Innovation as part of its Public School Choice Initiative. Solar Prep will server 308 girls in the 2017-2018 school year, and will continue to add a grade level every year until reaching 8th grade. At Solar Prep we focus on the following three priorities: Single-gender education within a socioeconomic diversity model Integrated, performance-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) learning Social Emotional Learning
