We know that every student learns in a different way, but they also have different comfort needs. Alternative seating can accommodate each students' comfort as well. Alternative Seating has been proven to be effective for alternative learners. This is my way of beginning my journey towards alternative seating across all areas in my classroom. A classroom rug will provide a space for students to lay down and complete assignments or read a book and/or sit in small groups to discuss different topics, assignments, or read! My goal is for my students to be able to choose to do their learning where they are MOST comfortable. Our classroom is like our home. I want students to be comfortable so that they can accomplish their highest learning goals.
