My first grade students are a very diverse and energetic group. They love learning and are like little sponges that absorb everything. They come into my classroom every day with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. They give me their best each and every day so it is my responsibility to give them my very best no matter what! We have a literacy block each day where we work on all the essential elements of reading. Their favorite thing to do is read to self or read to someone. They love the attention they get from reading to someone. I love reading to them, as well, and they beg for me to read stories to them. We also have a math block and students are engaged and are challenged during this time. They are becoming quite the problem solvers and it is so interesting to see how they think. My kids are very important to me. I would not know what else to do if I didn't teach!
